Model of 2006 Alexandrium season After a fairly successful run of the 2005 simulation, McGillicuddy and He have been putting 2006 observations into their model and running it simultaneously with the spring season. The map on the left shows concentrations of Alexandrium as observed by shipboard measurements; the map on the right shows the computer-modeled simulation, which combines observations of the cyst beds left by the 2005 bloom, weather observations from this spring, and projections of coastal currents and Alexandrium dynamics.
