Near surface current direction is calculated from an RDI ADCP located 41° 20.200' N, 70° 33.388' W at the underwater node. The direction is in oceanographic system, i.e. direction the flow is moving toward. It is taken from bin 16 of the ADCP which is at 11 meters above the bed in 12 meters of water (mean depth, see Tide for true depth).
