Research Interests

My primary interest centers on the ocean’s role in climate, climate variability and prediction from synoptic to decadal time scales: atmosphere-ocean interaction, basin scale oceanic and atmospheric circulation, global water cycle, water mass formation as well as biological-physical interdisciplinary dynamics. I approach these questions with analysis of in situ and satellite observations, GCM simulations and idealized model experiments.
