Jason II/Medea
Jason II/Medea is a two body ROV system, with Medea serving as a depressor weight and wide area survey vehicle linked to Jason II, which functions as a precision multi-sensory imaging and sampling platform. Both Medea and Jason II are designed to operate to a depth of 6,500 meters; they can be operated from a variety of research or commercial vessels. Jason II is connected to Medea by a neutrally buoyant tether 0.84" in diameter, and approximately 35 meters long.

Control Van
This is the operations site for Jason. The ROV is operated from a control van system. The system is made up of two modified ISO standard containers that travel separately from each other and are mated upon arrival at the host ship. Additional equipment is carried and used in a tool van and a rigging van, also standard ISO containers. When operating from a vessel, which does not have its own winch and fiber-optic wire system, the DSG winch and wire will also be shipped to the host ship. All of the equipment that is not permanently located in the vans is packed and loaded into the vans for transportation to the mobilization point.
