From 2000 to 2014 DOEI has funded approximately 107 research grants, providing over $5 million dollars to seed excellent basic research and engineering. During this period DOEI supported 12 Institute Fellows, 14 Post-Docs and 17 graduate students. Information on these activities can be found under the links below. OEI supports research grants from WHOI investigators in all departments, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary studies and new approaches consistent with OEI themes. Proposals are reviewed by an ad-hoc panel and awards made for 2-year periods.
