Centers for Ocean Science Education Excellence (COSEE-NOW)

COSEE NOW is an online network of scientists and educators focused on increasing ocean literacy and fostering collaborations.

Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE)

The GLOBE Partnership engages schools and teachers primarily in coastal Massachusetts, but also in other communities in the Northeast U.S. bu using the GLOBE Hydrology and Atmosphere protocols to investigate coastal waters and watersheds.

Massachusetts Marine Educators (MME)

MME is a dynamic, grass roots organization of teachers, informal educators, students, educational institutions, and others whose goal is to develop a marine literate society and promote awareness of the ocean world by integrating marine studies into existing curricula.

New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative (NEOSEC)

The NEOSEC is a diverse networked collaboration of more than forty institutions from across New England, including aquariums, museums, universities, government entities and science and research centers whose mission and collective purpose are to leverage New England’s extraordinary assets, to engage the public in understanding the vital connections between people and the ocean.

Science Fair Support

Through the Academic Programs Office, WHOI supports local science fairs at nearby schools. Many WHOI scientists participate as mentors and judges of local science fairs, both individually and through the Woods Hole Science and Technology Education Partnership (WHSTEP).

Woods Hole Sea Grant

The Woods Hole Sea Grant program, based at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), supports research, education, and extension projects that encourage environmental stewardship, long-term economic development, and responsible use of the nation’s coastal and ocean resources.

Woods Hole Science and Technology Education Partnership (WHSTEP)

WHSTEP is a partnership of schools, scientific institutions, businesses, and community resources whose purpose is to support, promote, and expand science and technology education and science literacy in the local community.

Zephyr Education Foundation

Bring your class to Woods Hole for the day and have your class go out on a hands-on scientific cruise on Vineyard Sound to replicate the activities scientists and engineers conduct on their cruises at WHOI.
