The Izu Islands
In August of 2005 I went on a field expedition to the Izu Islands in Japan. This project was a NSF-funded collaborative study involving scientists from the Carnegie Institution of Washington, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the University of New Mexico, the University of Tokyo and the Geological survey of Japan. The goal of this project was to examine the volatile systematics through geochemical studies of geothermal fluids and melt inclusions. More details can be found at www.scripps.ucsd.edu/japan |
