Several hypericum species, namely, Hypericum perforatum, Hypericum maculatum and Hypericum olympicum, yielded numerous normal alkanes and fatty acids including nonadecane, docosane, tricosane, octacosane and triacontane. Capric, palmitic, linoleic, oleic, behenic acids are some of the obtained fatty acids. |
