Photo Gallery: CoFeMUG cruise on the R/V Knorr
CoFeMUG stands for Cobalt, Iron (Fe), and Microorganisms in an Upwelling zone and Gyre. We left from Natal, Brazil in November 2007 and sampled across the tropical South Atlantic until we reached the Benguela Upwelling Zone off the coasts of Angola and Namibia, arriving in Walvis Bay, Namibia just about a month later. I collected depth profiles of size fractionated particles using in-situ pumping.
