Meulaboh is an active fishing port on a river. At the mouth of the river was a large
barrier system that was farmed. It was largely obliterated by the tsunami, changing the dynamics and ecology of the estuary. The sunken boat is typical of the fishing boats used in the area. (Rob. L. Evans)
