Conference Support
Graphic Services provides audio visual technical support for conference rooms at WHOI. We maintain and troubleshoot equipment in all conference rooms and are generally available to help you plan a conference from a technical viewpoint. If you experience problems in a WHOI conference room, please call us.
Event Technical Support
Large conferences and seminars with multiple lecturers often need technical organization. Designated speakers have individual technical
needs, and each may have an electronic presentation like a PowerPoint file,
perhaps a Mac or PC exclusive file, or perhaps a video or
DVD, and so on. We handle the technical matters so you can
concentrate on other details. Fifteen speakers showing up the
day of your seminar needing to download their material is chaos—we've seen it happen. We'll help you manage all conference materials
before the event begins so when the conference starts, there won't be any mishaps.
Streaming Video
Streaming video of seminars, lectures or meetings is a popular tool for
providing the information to people who couldn't attend your event. We
can videotape the event and stream it on the web after the event has
happened. For an example click these links:

Video conferencing tech support
There are two rooms in Clark set up permanently for Videoconferencing. They're used mainly for broadcasting Joint Program classes to students here at WHOI and at MIT in Boston. They are also available for general use within the Institution and can provide alternatives to expensive travel. Scheduling is done through Academic Programs. Contact Julia Westwater in Academic Programs for more information about using these services. Our role is to ensure proper set up and operation of the equipment before and during these conferencing sessions.
