Biological mediation of skeletogenesis and influence of biology on isotope fractionation and elemental composition of carbonate skeletons; the Record of High-frequency (interannual-, decadal-, and centennial-scale) climate change and short-lived catastrophic events (hurricanes and floods) in skeletons of aquatic organisms; the impact of climate change on mass reef events (coral spawning and bleaching); application of geochemical techniques to ecological problems (e.g., for fisheries management).
