Notification
You will be notified by email when service has been completed. A packet including copies of your service request(s) and CD's containing your images will be sent to the address listed on your original request. If you would rather obtain your image files via the internet, follow the instructions listed below.Downloading Your Images
Using a Web BrowserUsing a web browser such as Internet Explorer® or Mozilla Firefox® users may access their image sets using FTP at this web address: ftp://ftp.whoi.edu/pub/science/csi
Instructions for using Internet Explorer® to transfer files via FTP:
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
3. Select the "Advanced" tab.
4. Under "Browsing" select "Enable FTP Folder View (outside of Internet Explorer)".
5. Under "browsing" select "Use Passive FTP" (for firewall and DSL modem campatibility).
Internet Explorer is an Active mode FTP client when you select the "Enable Folder View for FTP sites" option (no matter what the "Use Passive FTP" option says). Internet Explorer can be enabled for a passive mode FTP client when you clear this option.
6. Enter ftp.whoi.edu/pub/science/csi in the address bar and follow the instructions in your browser window.
Instructions for using Mozilla Firefox® to transfer files via FTP:
1. Download and Install the free Mozilla Firefox® FTP add-on here: http://fireftp.mozdev.org/
2. Perform the following:
a. Under the "Manage Accounts" menu, select "New..."
b. Go to the "Host" field and enter the name of the server you wish to connect to.
c. If you wish to logon anonymously, check the Anonymous box. However, most times you will need to enter your login name and password so enter those in the appropriate fields.
e. Select "OK" to save the account information and to close the dialog.
f. Select the "Connect" button to make the connection to your site.
Once connected, you'll find files in your local directory on your left and remote files on your right. To upload a file TO the remote directory, select a file from your local directory (on the left) and press the arrow pointing to the right (towards the remote directory).
To download a file FROM the remote directory, select a file from the remote directory (on the right) and press the arrow pointing to the left (towards the local directory).
Using FTP Software
Using FTP software such as Fetch® or FTP Commander® users may set up an FTP connection using the following parameters:
Directory: ftp.whoi.edu
Username: anonymous
Password: user's email address
