Dear Workshop Participants:
The 2004 Buoy Workshop at the University of Florida was a lively event
at a great facility. About 100 persons participated and listened to
more than 35 presentations (a new record) and enjoyed two site tours
and a number of displays from companies that provide buoy related
hardware and sensors. Beautiful “balmy” spring weather
allowed outdoor lunches, a real treat for the many attendees from
colder climates at the end of the winter.
The large number of presentations resulted in a fast paced program,
the speakers deserve our special appreciation for the experience
and thoughts, which they shared at the Workshop by which they provided
a true exchange. The financial support from the Office of Navy Research
provided some funding for the Workshop preparation which is gratefully
acknowledged. Rick Cole from the University of South Florida deserves
special thanks for thorough and careful local support of the Workshop,
where else would you find two of the USF buoys positioned at the
entrance to the meeting site, just to add a touch.
The Speaker Program is following, there still are CD’s available
which contain the presentation material and the attendees list for
those who like to get more information.
Sincerely,
Walter Paul
