Faces of the Louis III
The propellers are turning once again on the Louis, and we heading back to our mooring site to redeploy Mooring A tomorrow. Many long hours were spent by the Engineering Department resolving the problems, and on behalf of all of the scientists on board, we thank them for their dedication. Continuing the theme of crewmember photos implemented on Dispatches 5 and 12, here are more faces of the Louis.

From the bridge, Second Officer Marie-Josee (MJ) Beaudoin notes activities occurring on the foredeck in the ship's log. Engine Room Technician Jeff Doane consults one of many manuals in the Engineer's Office. The "nerve center" of the Louis is the Logistic Office headed by Bill Brocklebank, who is responsible for all stores.

Storekeeper Mike Gaudet suggests that his inventory of ship's parts is like a genealogy of the Louis, with parent and children categories. Experienced on other Canadian Coast Guard Icebreakers, this is Seaman Terry Rhyno's first cruise on the Louis. Bosun Rico Amamio grapples with a tool for attaching to errant objects.
