NIMA-B

Oliver Woodhouse (Univ. Southampton), analyzing Pacific seawater samples on NIMA-B. The single collector, nine-inch mass analyzer (NIMA) was built in1976 at the Carnegie Institution of Washington by Stan Hart, Ken Burrhus and L.S. Carter. The first negative Osmium-trioxide ion beam was measured on December 18, 1990 by Eric Hauri and Stan Hart. Since then, NIMA-B has been our workhorse for Os isotope analyses. NIMA-B is under joint supervision of Greg Ravizza, Jurek Blusztajn and Stan Hart.
