The first osmium isotope measurements by N-TIMS were done at WHOI on December 12, 1990 by Eric Hauri, Ken Burrhus and Stan, using NIMA-B .

The first Os isotope measurements using the Cameca 3f ion microprobe were performed by Nobu Shimizu on July 22, 1982. The Os chemistry (See CHEMISTRY section)used at WHOI was originally set up by Greg and has since been modified with contributions from Alberto, BPE, Deb, Doug Pyle, Eric E. Hauri, Kelly K. Falkner, Kwok-Lin Lee, and Oliver B. Woodhouse.
