Job Summary
Performs all electrical tasks with superior ability and assists in shop activity, organization and planning where necessary. May be required to coordinate work with other trades and/or contractors to complete work.

Major Duties

Performs all duties of Electrician.

In addition, designs electrical circuits for special applications (controllers, etc.) and assists in design requirements for buildings, facilities, and marine applications.

Works with electrical meters and tools, mechanic's hand and power tools, drill press, power saws, sheet metal tools, heavy equipment (fork lifts, crane cars, and overhead cranes) and ship's electrical equipment and machinery.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.

Desired Education/Experience for Hiring
High school or vocational school plus 2 years training school or apprenticeship in electrical trades; Massachusetts Electrician's License; knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations pertinent to installation of electrical cable and equipment; 10 years experience in electrical field including 5 years in marine electrical work. Valid MA driver's license and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
