Job Summary Supervises
the printing and associated reproduction work for the preparation
of scientific, technical and administrative papers, reports, publications
and other products.
Major Duties
- Has complete
knowledge of the print shop, including the operation of offset
and reproduction machines.
- Receives,
schedules and sets priorities for all work assignments to meet
delivery deadlines.
- Exercises
quality control on all work produced.
- Maintains
work records and stocks inventory.
- Orders
and replaces all paper, binding materials and other consumable
items pertinent to reproduction.
- Responsible
for maintaining all copy machines within the Institution, including
their use, quality of copy and upkeep.
- Responsible
for the upkeep and maintenance of all reproduction equipment
in the best working condition.
- Responsible
for overall cleanliness of the reproduction area.
- Consults
and advises on reproduction jobs to achieve desired results;
provides cost estimates for printing jobs.
- Responsible
for classified material in the print shop undergoing reproduction.
- Works
with offset printing presses, platemakers, punches, collators,
binders and copy machines.
- Performs
such other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary.
Desired Education/Experience for Hiring High
school or equivalent education plus training in lithographic printing,
photo, drafting, or other related activities, plus four years experience
in all phases of reproduction, printing and related work.
