Adding the WHOI Directory:
1. From the menu bar, Click Edit > Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings
2. Select the Addressing sub-menu under your Email Account (In
some versions of Netscape, this sub-menu is called "Composition
& Addressing.").
3. Select under “When looking up addresses:”,
“Use a different LDAP server” and then select
edit Directories.

4. Select Add in the menu box.

5. Enter the following information in the Directory Server Properties
box:

WHOI Directory |
| Hostname: |
ldap.whoi.edu |
| Base DN: |
o=whoi, c=us |
Then click OK twice.

6. If the under “Use a different LDAP server”
the Directory in the drop down box is none, select the “WHOI
Directory” which was just created.
7. Click OK.
Auto Address Completion & Email Address Collection:
1. From the menu bar, Click Edit > Preferences
2. Under the Mail & Newsgroups Menu, select the Addressing sub-menu.
3. Under “Email Address Collection”, uncheck
all boxes.
4. Under “Address Autocompletion”, make sure
both options are selected.
Note: If you are configuring Netscape for use on a mobile computer
or at home, uncheck "Directory Server". You will not
be able to lookup addresses from the LDAP server unless you are
connected to the WHOI network

5. Click OK.
