WHOI Wireless Network Configurations

Once you have registered your wireless network interface, you will have available to you two WHOI wireless networks. The preferred network Atlantic is more secure because it requires a VPN connection. An alternative network Pacific is available for computers which are not configured for use with the VPN, is less secure but requires the use of a WEP key.

Atlantic

  1. Of the two networks, Atlantic is easier to configure.
  2. This network is likely to be the one selected by your wireless client.
  3. If it is not currently selected, choose it from the list of offered networks.
  4. Start your VPN client and enter your password (hint: this is the same as your RAS password)
