iPass - Windows client

Upgrade to version 3.62 (19Sept2008)

A significantly improved iPass client is now available for Windows 2000/XP/Vista computers.

• Better connectivity using WiFi, including support for additional devices
• Improved visual cues for Wireless networks
• Improved error messages
• Various memory managment and user interface issues have been resolved
• Fixed problem with closing iPass as part of shutdown procedure

Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 or 7 must be installed. Update your copy if you are using version 5.

1. Download and install new version - no need to uninstall existing client
• Download the new client from ftp://ftp.whoi.edu/pub/services/ipass/
• Install by double clicking on the saved file with a .exe extension
2. Update using the new iPassConnect client over a FAST connection
• Start the iPassConnect client while connected to WHOInet (Ethernet)
• Update your phonebook by choosing Settings -> Update -> Phonebook
• Then, select Settings -> Update iPassConnect -> Software
• IMPORTANT: do this before you travel - you do not want to update the client over a slow modem connection.
