RAS Configuration for Mac OS X
If you haven't already signed up for a RAS account, click
here.
If you need configuration instructions for Mac OS 9 or earlier,
contact the CIS Helpdesk
at ext. 2439.
If you will be accessing the RAS outside of the local (Falmouth)
calling area, click here
for iPass instructions.

From the Finder, click on the Blue
Apple, then select System Preferences.

Under the System Preferences,
select Network.

Under the Location drop-down
box, select New Location.

In the pop-up box, type WHOI RAS.
Then click OK.

Under the Show drop-down
box, select Internal Modem.

Under the PPP Heading, enter
in the following information in the appropriate fields:
Service Provider: WHOI RAS
Account Name: Your RAS Username (This
is on the RAS aacount information sheet you received)
Password: Your RAS Password (This is
on the RAS aacount information sheet you received)
Telephone Number: 508-457-2060
Save Password: Check this box if you do not want to enter
your password each time you connect

Click Apply Now.

To test connection, click Dial Now.
- TIP: Select
the Modem heading, then check off Show
modem status in menu bar. This will allow you start
the RAS from your menu bar.
